.What is Narcissism?
Piaget identified it as egocentrism in child development.
While we never fully "grow out" of egocentrism, we learn to manage and moderate it as we learn to interact with others from a sociocentric perspective. Unfortunately, there are many adults who indulge children's egocentric behaviors well past that stage of development.
They don't help children learn to consider the welfare of others.
They don't help children learn to be kind to others or to act with care and compassion for the misfortunes of others.
For those kids, their natural egocentrism develops into full blown narcissism.
The combined politics and pandemic of the past four years provided a very public display of who got stuck in their development
