Technical HELP! I need somebody

Unread post by HumblePied Piper »

Mr. Webmaster, sir.

I had a special person email me advice on CPS. I replied to the emails, which I now understand I inadvertantly replied to messageboard@enlightenmefree.com. One was a long email... from a lazy man stand-point, can you retrieve those? or are they lost in cyberspace? If so, could you forward it to whatchamacallit?

Whatcha!!! I responded to your emails, yet, was reaquainted with the "possibility" that I am not a perfect being! I used my cyber-stupid sixth sense to do the above. I cannot email you via the board, because it brings up Outlook Express, which I cannot configure with my webmail. (I say "I cannot" configure... I'm sure there are smart people... at least, smarter than I, that can configure it) I did receive your emails, but you didn't leave me an addy to reply to. I would send a PM, but I don't have those rights on the board.

You can email me at

tehcnically fun tutorial

Unread post by tree »

Here....
I am going to post a little tutorial and fun practice session so we all can be forum and blog savvy in this day and age.

So, for starters, here is how you make that little quote thingy work.

ok, so say I want to quote something from Humbled's post in this posting.
I scroll down to his post, cut and paste his quote in MY new posting here.

Then......

I highlight his entire quote (meaning make it blue with your mouse, then let go of your mouse and....).
scroll up in THIS box and hit "quote".
And.....whalla.....you have just quoted some previous genius!!

here...we can practice.
I will quote humbled, and then you can give it a go without feeling stupid.
This will be fun! no, really
I say "I cannot" configure... I'm sure there are smart people... at least, smarter than I, that can configure it)

font color tutuorial

Unread post by tree »

...AND.....

Same goes for if you want to highlight, let's say something YOU as the poster want to stand out.

ok, so let's say I say something witty like C + E =R......
er...ooopss...wait....that has been trademarked.

ok. I got it.

RSE is really a cult in disguise.

so, the trick to THIS little endeavor is, if I want to color code "RSE is really a cult in disguise" I have to highlight it
(meaning left click my mouse and make the sentence blue and highlighted with my mouse) then go up and
choose a font color RIGHT AFTER I HAVE TYPED THAT IT. YOU CANNOT DO THIS AT THE END OF YOUR PARAGRAPH.
Meaning, you have to be the all sleuthful writer, editor, savvy linguist that you are on the spot!
That's right, for those of you who were not "genius enough" to have gone to RSE and had that on your list since
1991, there is still hope for you. (OMG-I hope you family members know I am just really kidding here!!!
<------ducking from AussieGrils' boots being tossed about  )

ok...so here I go.
I type it....

RSE is really a cult.

I highlight it, scroll up to font color of my choice (yellow doesn't come out so well on white, btw)
and hit the color.
Then I hit enter to start typing a new line.

Ok. That is about all the madness I can muster for one sitting

do you know how to highlight on a Mac?
(um... I don't)

whatever that process is on a MAC, highlight the sentence or paragraph, then just click on the "quote" thing in the box right
above your posting.....

Geez - is there no cancel button for messages that I want to abort?

And, not to seem arrogant but I'm familiar with edit functions on both a Mac and a PC. But on my laptop Mac there is no mouse to left click on.

Below is my stab at using color on a quote. I don't expect you to figure this out for me, but if anyone out there is Mac-proficient, an answer would be welcome.

Thanks for your help. (I can't add this sentence after the below quote because I then get stuck in the quote thread.

RSE is really a cult.
for me, as far as aborting, I just do not click submit.

I did like it before when they kept on the edit feature in the event I don't always see my typos.
but I understand their point of removing the option.

Cali Dreamz: If you could get my partner on here, she is Mac savvy... I think that that would be a GREAT alterior motive to get her on this website!

Whatcha: I cc'ed you on an email that I sent to major newsmedia outlets and investigative reporters. I hope you received it. Concerning that, I have only had 1 response so far, from Pro Publica. They sent a message affirming that they received my E-mail, and that they would send more communiques when they decide to investigate or not.

to all... I sent a message to local and national media, addressing concerns, mainly of public safety and safety of children. When I have the ability (resources), I do plan on contacting government agencies that may be able to help. I will fill you in more if you Email me --

Hi Humble,

Yes, I did receive it. I didn't get the long one, though. That's unfortunate. I hope you can retreive it, too. If not, there's Plan B ! Will be in touch soon.

"left click" on a mac

Unread post by sara »

California, the equivalent of "left click" (or is it right click - not the usual one but the other one) on a mac is to hold down ctrl and click - you might have found that out already...

Thanks, Sara.

The function that I just can't get cooperation from is the quote box. I'll test it now on you last message and see what happens.
"left click" on a mac

Don't think quote box is working (per above):( , but I can get icons to work. Just have to be very careful about placement.:P
