Re: to correct errors or edit your post
I don't have an EDIT tab. Has it been discontinued, again? It was a good idea, just to be able to edit typos, and wording errors, if nothing else. I use it a lot on other forums.

Re: to correct errors or edit your post
Hi Sad Grandfather
This facility works within a 3 hour time period from the time you submit a post.
After that time the Edit Tab will not be accessible nor visible.
The reason we do not have a permanent Edit Tab on EMF is to safeguard the integrity of all posts.
Unfortunately it has happened that lead post have been edited to remove content / or context thus messing up a thread.
So we had to remove the editing and deleting facility across the board, until just recently by adding the edit facility for a 3 hour time period.
Its also a good idea.....
to write a post out in a word processor like Microsoft word beforehand then paste and post it on EMF.
There are free word processors available online such as...
AbiWord - CNET Download.com
http://download.cnet.com/AbiWord/3000-2 ... 30042.html
Hope this helps

Re: to correct errors or edit your post
Well, the 3 hour limit is fine, but in the test above, I didn't have an Edit tab immediately after posting, so that's why I used the second post to say so. Am I missing something?
I have my own Phpbb forum and it's sometimes hard to see what other folks are seeing without signing out. I'm sure that, like my forum, the admin can edit anyone's post to remove objectionable material, so always has this tab.
I couldn't find the tab on my posts, so did the test, above.

Re: to correct errors or edit your post
OK, thanks Sad Grandfather,
Not sure what is going on here.
Does anyone else not have the Edit tab after posting?
You can post a test post here, the edit tab should show at the bottom right of your post...

David,
You might try a bit more chocolate...or some Cheezies
Sorry, but that's the only advice I can come up with at the moment.

Still working on a fix...
It’s odd because the edit function seemed to be working when first activated.

Re: to correct errors or edit your post
Hmm... No edit for me either; just the Quote button in the lower right corner of my post.
I thought it might have something to do with my web browser security level, so I tried setting low privacy, but it did not help. For the record, I am using MS Internet Explorer version 8 with current updates.
I do longer postings in my word processor, but it never seems to fail that as soon as I click Submit, I spot a grammar error or a spelling error that is not caught by the word processor's built in Spelling Monkey.

Well done David.
If you don't have any on hand, buy some and gnosh away.
Sending you some cyber-chocolate in the mean time (not nearly as good, but its the thought that counts.
