saw this 2011 film yesterday and attended a discussion about it with 25 people.

Martha Marcy May Marlene

is very well done, remained within its intention of a deep character study, not ovedoing the cult stuff but reveals the intense inner turmoil many people have when they first exit a cult and can't talk about it. somewhat derivative of a Manson family commune but in modern times in the Catskills, NY.

A few correlations to Ramtha in the leader's 'leave your family', 'be here now'...'death is no big deal' philosophy but it is the main character's struggle to make sense of reality and what just happened to her that intrigued me.

and most likely too close to home to be able to watch it.
Although I would love to see it
