J.Z. Knight’s Ramtha School Runs Full-Page Ad in Sunday Seattle Times Touting Group’s Gambling Hot Streak
by Bryan Myrick
April 7, 2013 at 11:42 pm

WP_20130407_002The Washington State Lottery gained a 35,000-year-old Egyptian warrior as its newest unofficial (and uninvited) spokesperson over the weekend when the Washington state-based spiritual organization Ramtha School of Enlightenment led by the self-proclaimed channeler J.Z. Knight ran a full-page ad in the Sunday edition of The Seattle Times with the claim that “Ramtha School students win big money at lotteries and casinos.”

The full-color full-page ad appeared in near the end of the newspaper’s front section, just a turn of the page from the popular editorial and opinion pages.

“RSE teaches that luck is an illusion,” the ad copy reads. “The unusual frequency of winnings shows these occurrences are not luck.”

If the name of J.Z. Knight is familiar to our readers it may be because of a series of stories we published last October after videos surfaced showing Knight making slurs and bigoted remarks about Catholics, Mexicans, gays and even organic farmers.

“F— you, you Catholics!” Knight bellowed in one video clip and another clip documented Knight saying, “All Mexicans are not worthy of conscious thought.”

Knight responded in part by claiming that the statement were not hers but were, in fact, comments made by her transdimensional pal Ramtha, the aforementioned Egyptian spirit who Knight claims speaks through her to deliver his wisdom to “students” of the Ramtha School of Enlightenment headquartered in Yelm, Wash.

The release of the videos (since removed from YouTube due to copyright claims by Knight’s corporate entity) created a significant media attention when research revealed that Knight and the RSE had made substantial donations to the Washington State Democratic Party, to Democratic candidates for state office, and to Pres. Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.

So, since Knight’s gambling on politics paid off, why not move on to conquer the lottery as well? That is evidently where the RSEs advertisement comes in to help readers reach a conclusion so obvious it’s going to knock you off your chariot: Knight’s ancient North African warlord is also able to teach you to beat the lottery at its own game.

By stitching together a smattering of anecdotes and pictures – one photo is of a couple holding an oversized $50,000 Washington State Lottery winnings check – to tell the story of how RSE “students” are enjoying “an exceptional streak of fortune by cashing lottery tickets and casino winnings of $10,000 or more each.”

The subtext of the ad, of course, is a not-so-subtle call to action for desperate souls to make the pilgrimage to Yelm, fork over thousands of dollars for the privilege of hearing Knight perform bad astral ventriloquism.

At Knight’s RSE, the house always wins.

Update: A spokesperson from the Washington State Lottery told us that to their knowledge neither the use of the Washington State Lottery logo nor the implication that RSE teachings enhance a person’s chances of winning are violations of state law. State Lottery Director of External Affairs Arlen Harris cautioned, however, that “Washington’s Lottery does not endorse the claims of JZ Knight nor has the lottery promoted RSE in our marketing plan.”

Bonjour Robair!

Great article!

Any idea what a full page ad costs?? Just wondering what she/he/it thinks the valuse of the propaganda is.

If you go into any place that sels the lottery, they have a list of past winners up.

JZ has still not stopped being a promoter. ever since her cable tv days. She will do whatever it takes to get and keep the $'s rolling in. It's all about the benjamins. Keep a lookout for the RSE number generator that she will charge for on the site. If you don't get a winning number it is your fault; if you do....well then the teachings worked for you.

Wait a minute....I want that copyright!!!!

... Or make that a, "fool," page advertisement. I love that article; thanks Robair. I even love the mixed metaphor with Egypt and chariots. That's bound to annoy ramsters, but should work just fine for the general public unfamiliar with JZ Knight's Ramtha tale. Love it!

I'd love to see a random sample off 100 ramsters who play the lotto compared to a random sample of 100 of the general public who play the lotto to see if one of the groups has a statistically significant winning advantage. I'll bet you (that's a pun) that they would turn out dead even and statistically no better than chance.

RSE's newspaper advertisement is typical hyperbolic talk and has bias because it only cites self reported alleged winners. What about the ramster losers slinking home, tail between the legs, with fists full of losing lotto tickets? They're out the money for RSE as well money blown on the lotto.

Yes, a great article. I think that full page ad was a dumb move.

You can tell the advertisement had two purposes. Objective number one is to attract desperate local people that are suckers for the lottery which RSE hopes can be further suckered into taking RSE courses in order to try to get a leg up at winning. RSE is obviously going after local suckers who can easily travel to the RSE, "campus," for a quick bit of lottery, "enlightenment." Objective number two is ego stroking of current RSE customers to validate their continued dumping of money into RSE instruction.

Now, I'll be impressed (wink) if RSE buys a fool page ad in, say, Time and maybe Scientific American. If RSE does that, then the RSE web site could have a banner that proclaims that RSE has been recognized in Time and Scientific American. Never mind the recognition amounted to recognizing RSE's money to buy an ad.

It worked on my family. They think something is really happening here. Lol, funny how they had to use that sentence.
Instead of the tank and field, J.z. takes everyone to the casino. 80,000 profit, includes loses. That is amazing. Its focus in the midst of caos.
Can I tell you how Much I hate J.z. knight and her practices? I am furious over it.

Oh jeez Louise, my family member, who lives with me has been doing the primary retreat since last Saturday. Everyday they blow their brains out in c&e and then take off to the casino, in her case it's to the store for pick 4 and scratch tickets. Pfffft, are you kidding me? $1100 for extraordinary casino trips? I heard Steve Klein giving them all shit because they're staying at the casino past 7:00 and missing their bus back and showing up at the gates in the middle of the night lol.

And I have a feeling that ghost app that someone posted about awhile ago, jz MUST be invested because she's pushing that pretty hard too! Also jz is smoking like a fiend again, I guess her power plays are effecting her nerves a bit. Yaaay us, one by one we're making a difference! So happy to see all the new posters stepping into the sunlight! Every day on this side of the asylum is a great one! Good luck to all the diehard ramsters, lord knows you need it!

Oh and let's not forget jz hoovered more money out of her minions by holding a garage sale of her useless Knicks knacks, you had to manifest more than just the entry ticket. Don't worry though, if you don't have the casino bankroll, you could option out to jz rose to purchase as many scratch tickets it takes to post your face on a poster for next weeks full page ad! My family member won $15 on a $10 scratch so we' re expecting photographers any day now!

It makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. I this laughable that bus trips to the casino are actually part of a curriculum for teaching enlightenment... maybe if it were a counter example to see how not to be enlightened. On the other hand, it is painful to see well meaning people get ripped off being handed such poppycock in the name of spiritual education.

I wonder if JZ has some sort of deal going with the Nisqually casino?

The rambaloney explanation for the casino is to maintain your focus amongst the chaos going on in the casino, just like the field except instead of finding your card, you win money. I don't know about anyone else, but when wandering around the horse pen, I hit alot of other cards before I found mine, so how many times do you play at the casino before you win? Oh right, you don't bet until you see the number clearly...didn't Kenny already prove this was futile? And what's the deal on the scratch tickets, does one glow more brightly than others? I've said it before, if chronic focus on money worked, Yelm would have more millionaires thAn anywhere else in the world!

No wonder the ramsters loooove this, what would you pick, Casiino afternoon, or rambling around a horse pen in the cold and rain?
