Psychic Dictatorship in America was published by Gerald Bryan in 1940 under 'Truth Publications'. The book is a collection of a series of monographs or chapters he wrote in the late 1930s to expose the "I AM" Activity cult founded by Guy and Edna Ballard around 1933. It's been out of print since the 1940s but I first found a copy in Santa Fe in 1979 when I was researching the sect. I made a copy of the book in 1981 and sent it to other former members of CUT [Church Universal and Triumphant]. Kenneth Paolini and his wife also got a copy from me. Later they re-issued the book under their own label as all copyrights and run out. The new edition sold out too

btw, I interviewed Gerald Bryan's widow, Olive, in 1982. She said he was a wonderful man, a chiropractor who got caught up briefly with the I AM until he smelled the rats inside the castle. He noted how many spouses were grieved over their mate's breaking up with them because they would not join the cult and how much money the enamored were handing over to the leaders as "love offerings." By 1938-9 [Depression era mind you] the Ballards went from paupers in 1932 to driving around with a fleet of canary colored Duesenbergs. I saw one of these exceptional automoblies in 1983 at a car show in Albuquerque---the best of its day. Another testament to the power of brainwashing.
