I Am Fishead: Are Corporate Leaders Psychopaths?
Well worth viewing...
This excellent documentary brought up a very important point I have never considered before,
The prolific use of anti depressants in the workplace (Prozac and alike) this has the effect of blunting critical thinking to call into question
and the raise red flags on corporate sociopaths.
Makes all the more sense why JZ Knight would pushes Prozac use at RSE.

I Am Fishead: Are Corporate Leaders Psychopaths?
It is a well-known fact that our society is structured like a pyramid. The very few people at the top create conditions for the majority below. Who are these people? Can we blame them for the problems our society faces today? Guided by the saying “A fish rots from the head” we set out to follow that fishy odor. What we found out is that people at the top are more likely to be psychopaths than the rest of us.

Who, or what, is a psychopath? Unlike Hollywood’s stereotypical image, they are not always blood-thirsty monsters from slasher movies. Actually, that nice lady who chatted you up on the subway this morning could be one. So could your elementary school teacher, your grinning boss, or even your loving boyfriend.

The medical definition is simple: A psychopath is a person who lacks empathy and conscience, the quality which guides us when we choose between good and evil, moral or not. Most of us are conditioned to do good things. Psychopaths are not. Their impact on society is staggering, yet altogether psychopaths barely make up one percent of the population.

Through interviews with renowned psychologist Professor Philip Zimbardo, leading expert on psychopathy Professor Robert Hare, former President of Czech Republic and playwright Vaclav Havel, authors Gary Greenberg and Christopher Lane, professor Nicholas Christakis, among numerous other thinkers, we have delved into the world of psychopaths and heroes and revealed shocking implications for us and our society.

David,
studies done since WW2 on 'groups' [especially by W R Bion (bee-on)] shows that among 'neurotic' soldiers that Bion was studying, he noted that when he broke them up into groups of 4 or 5 and gave them a task to solve, invariably the most sociopathic one was chosen or ended up as the leader. If a sociopath was unavailable, the most narcissistic one would lead.

What does this tell us about recruits and employess and followers?
Are we more impressed by showmanship than rational behavior?
We sure as hell are :!:

It also begs the question about human development and evolution. We as a species may "need" sociopathic types to lead us. After all, think of the politician that bends the facts and speaks in grandiose terms to attract votes. Our courtrooms are set up on this model to some extent. The lawyer who can best 'sway' a jury when the evidence is not convincely clear will win.

The key here is in the evidence. If a driven leader makes sense and stays within reality, his or her 'sociopathic' qualities will remain within healthy boundaries. Good leaders have good checks and balances around them, sociopathic or not.
This is the genius of the US Constitution when properly applied.

bad leaders, avoid chacks and balances like the plague, and convince their followers that checks and balances are unnecessary, that one needs only to 'resonate' from a subjective viewpoint to "choose" whether the leader is telling the truth or not.

I see your points Joe, very interesting, thanks for those insights.
I've always wrestled with the issue of.. why 'nature' would tolerate sociopaths in the greater scheme of life, it seemed nature "god perhaps’
has a flaw that manifested itself through the creation of parasitic life forms, anyway, I will think about what you wrote. I got a lot out of the documentary,
but Robair has raised some serious red flags about the motives of the filmmakers of a political agenda going on, if so, this is very disappointing.
I will dig a little deeper..also watch it again.

I agree. just watched it. recommended.

but "doing good" also demands we grasp the context. eg, Scientology submits leason plans to schools, sends emissaries to help in emergency situations.
what is the agenda? is a good question...is the do-good agenda a mask for something else?
