ex-members with on line forum being sued by cult:

I have had many complaints over the past years about this one and its leader/founder SrSriRaviShankar.
Similar in style, manipulation via pseudo-science, deception and psychological and social harm to what ex-TMers have stated about Maharishi and the TM cult.

Re: Art of Living_SriSri Ravi Shankar
If Judy decides to sue this site, by all means blame it on ME. There is nothing I would enjoy more than being my own lawyer and cross examining her on the stand. I also have little to lose, as I don't think they could attach my Social Security and retirement, and I would enjoy laughing at her while she pays her lawyers out of her own ill gotten gains. Even if she got a big judgement against me, my bank account would be empty, and everything else mortgaged to the hilt when they came to collect.

rse/jz is not in same position to sue ex-members or 'emf'. AoL is huge compared to JZ, thus can intimidate more, but those ex-members need some good legal advice. Countersuits for infringing on free speech can be very powerful, esp if the speech is backed up by evidence.
I went through this with ex-members of a large martial arts cult 20 years ago. we, 16 ex-members and moi, were sued after I gave a private workshop on cults. We were sued for "slander" because I mentioned "coercive persuasion" in a handout about the cult.
judge threw it out of court after 2 appearances in houston courts. Cost us some money, but eventually the dam#d leader, John C Kim and some of his cronies, spent 4 years in jail in IL for tax fraud.

I recall the best part was me coaching our lawyer with notes as he was cross-examining their "expert", a psychologist. We made a tongue-tied fool out of her in front of the judge. Facts are facts, truth is truth, end evidence is evidence. All their bs from a parade of cult members they put on the witness stand saying how "good" the teaching was was useless because any judge/jury can see through self-serving, anecdotal jabber.
