The movie Dark Waters showcases Robert Bilott's case against the chemical manufacturing corporation DuPont after they contaminated a town with cancer forming chemicals and covered it up figuratively and literally. For decades, DuPont dumped PFAS into the Ohio River in West Virginia, killing farm animals and poisoning the water of surrounding communities.
In 2017, Bilott won a $671 million settlement on behalf of more than 3,500 plaintiffs. But the fight is not over.
