Jim Beebe was a former Scientologist and member of the original Cult Awareness Network.
If you don?t have time to listen to all six parts...
I recommend part 6.

An interview with Jim Beebe, former Scientologist
But he has nothing on at all, cried at last the whole people....
David. Interesting you found this.
What was your reason for posting it?
I knew Jim Beebe [he passed away some years ago] and knew of his trials as an outspoken ex-member of LRHubbard's org. In interview part 6 that you recommend Jim mentions how the old CAN was infiltrated by a Scientology operative, Laura 'Terepin' aka Jolie Steckart from 1990. She was effective till CAN was taken over by a Scientology-related org <http> essentially run by a scientologist Nancy O, the last I checked. I met Laura a few times when she was 'operating' at CAN conferences and once had lunch w her in Chicago. But along with some of my colleagues I already suspected she was a CoS operative. Intriguing how Jim B and others in the oldCAN office kept defending her till the bitter end. It shows how easily trust can be betrayed and even the experts can be fooled. Even at that rate it was not until 1999 or so that someone else hired a PI to finally outed Laura as Jolie S, an actress of sorts.

I mentioned elsewhere that tangling with some cults is like messing with a tar baby. I communicated with the newCAN's director via email for some time right after they opened shop in LA area. She seemed to have a lot of time on her hands because I'd get responses right away! It was a useless gesture but I did prove to myself that newCAN would merely talk in circles instead of addressing my questions. Anything you say or write to or about such groups will be used against you if possible. EG, the newCAN's last newsletter in 2000 takes something I wrote that is very critical of them and used a quote out of context:

But that's okay. Anyone that contacts me as a result of that article finds out what I want them to know...

Hi Joe,
Sorry to hear that Jim has passed from this world, it would have been an honor to have met him.
You pretty much nailed my reasons for posting the video links..
and then you added even more valuable insider insights..Thank you.
The interview is very powerful in explaining the levels of utter betrayal and deception people
are prepared to commit while under the influence of a coercive group such as scientology.
I do see parallels with Judith and her RSE supporters, including my own behavior as a ?Ramster?..
Where it is possible to abandon ethics and critical thinking in the belief of some higher order and purpose
based on a fantasy world sanctioned by a powerful and corrupt organization.
Hopefully Jim?s interview will help many wakeup to what scientology is really about......
and serve as an inspiration for others speak out.... and reach for that whistle.
?
As for the Tar Baby?
It serves to always wear gloves..
But not to forget to take them off?
Especially when sharing a beer..!
