If the World Doesn?t end, be Suspicious

Most cults are clearly marked by doom and gloom teachings. They control people by fear.
However, the end of the world is coming ?it?s going to be scary and must hurry to do what is takes to selfishly save yourselves , and the rest of the stupid people out there who refuse to follow will simply be destroyed by their ignorance.?
Surely, you have heard of this kind of talk before in churched that act like cults, various cults, and other controlling organizations.
Yisrael ?Buffalo Bill? Hawkins has predicted that on Thursday June 12, 2008, nuclear war will break out, which will start the end of the world.
He?s done this a few times before and just goes on to make other predictions as he sells his snake oil to his brainwashed and manipulated followers.
When asked about his mistakes in predicting the end of the world before, he say that Jesus told him not to worry about that-in the Scriptures!
Of course, he has to unlock secret codes in the Bible that no one else can see but him?.
Sound incredible that people still follow this guy? It?s not that unusual. When this Thursday comes and goes without WW111 beginning, he?ll lost a follower here and there, but many will crawl out of their bunkers, as they did before, and still hang on for more.
After all, they?ve given so much money and time to it, they can?t quit now. Their leader will even implore the potential defectors with words like, ?You can?t leave now-not after you?ve been in this long?? and ?The signs are there. Why can?t you see them??
Those who do have the courage to leave will be berated and then treated as outcasts. The very people they thought were there ?new friends? will not only abandon them, they will do all kinds of things to destroy them.
The closes to the cult leader will do damage control, spinning the facts as they can-to cover their leader?s backside.
Meanwhile, lives continue to be destroyed, while a cult leader gets richer and richer.
Cult leaders have not power except other that that which is given them. Don?t let yourself be deceived, manipulated, or controlled by anyone. When these people make promises they do not fulfill, get far away from them.
Don?t let them harm your families, and don?t give them any more of your money, time, or attention.
More importantly, don?t fear them. That may be easier said than done. If you are the one who has chosen to read this column to be critical-yet found that maybe you are being deceived by a cult and want to get out, I have a suggestion for you. Contact a local area pastor in the Yelm area.
I?ve spoken to nearly all of them and know that they are ready, willing, and capable to help you. They will not charge anything for that help.
Churches are not out for your money. Who told you that? Was it the cult leader who charged you a whole lot of money to hear that kind of anti-church talk?
Are you doing better financially because of that cult leader? Do you have all that was promised by a cult leader, or do you keep pouring money into a scam that never works for anyone?
Here are some words of comfort from a man who was under a lot of pressure. He said,
? Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me-those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches? Don?t fear them. They only power any of them have is that which we choose to give them.? (Psalm 49:5-6)
